DL coach Terrance Knighton will not be back at Nebraska in 2025
Defensive coordinator Tony White left Nebraska for Florida State on Monday. It appears defensive line coach Terrance Knighton could be following him to Tallahassee.
HuskerOnline confirmed on Wednesday that Knighton said his final goodbyes to the Husker players in the locker room as he makes his next move.

Knighton participated in NU’s bowl practice on Tuesday and was also featured during Nebraska’s official signing day show on YouTube.
Knighton’s departure is another tough blow to a defensive unit that will lose nearly all of its key production from 2024.
In 2024, Knighton was paid $425,000 by NU, and he made $400,000 in 2023.
Nebraska must replace all its top defensive linemen in 2025
Nebraska will lose its top two defensive linemen, Nash Hutmacher and Ty Robinson, to graduation in 2025.

On top of that, projected starter Jimari Butler announced he is entering the transfer portal, along with two of the Huskers’ most experienced edge rushers James Williams and Princewill Umanmielen.
Initially, Butler said he would be returning to Nebraska in 2025.
Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Vincent Jackson also announced he will be entering the transfer portal.
NU returns veterans Elijah Jeudy, Riley Van Poppel, Keona Davis and Cameron Lenhardt on its defensive line. They also signed three highly-ranked defensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class: Malcolm Simpson, Tyson Terry and Kade Pietrzak.
It has not been announced who will be the defensive coordinator for the upcoming bowl game. NU finds out its bowl destination and opponent on Sunday.
