Elkhorn North 5-star guard Britt Prince commits to Nebraska
Nebraska women’s basketball might have just landed one of the biggest recruits in program history. Elkhorn North guard Britt Prince announced her commitment to Amy Williams and the Huskers on Sunday.
The 5-foot-11 guard is a five-star prospect, according to ESPN. She is the No. 28 overall prospect in the class of 2024. In fact, Prince is the highest-rated prospect to come out of Nebraska since Taylor Kissinger in 2017.
Jessica Sheppard was the Huskers’ last top-30 recruit. Sheppard, who played for Fremont (Neb.) High School, was the No. 3 recruit in the class of 2015. After two seasons, she transferred to Notre Dame and won the 2018 national championship.

Prince had 35 Division I offers and picked the Huskers. She had offers from Creighton, Baylor, Louisville, Indiana, USC and many more.
Prince has led the Wolves to three straight Class B titles. She was named the 2022 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.

The point guard averaged 24 points per game with 8.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game as a junior. She shot 59 percent from the field during the 2022-23 season.
Prince scored 26 points in the 2023 state championship vs. Skutt Catholic. The junior played through an ankle injury during the game.
Husker basketball has been on the incline over the last few seasons and are battling to get over the hump. They finished 18-15 and 8-10 in the Big Ten in the 2022-23 season. They suffered several big injuries that impacted their season.
Jaz Shelley is back for her fifth season and NU added several big-time transfers and freshmen.
Nebraska starts its 2023-24 season starts on Nov. 6 at noon against Northwestern State at Pinnacle Bank Arena. They beat Dakota Wesleyan 83-47 on Oct. 29 in an exhibition match.
