Five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola visiting Lincoln this weekend
The nation’s top overall recruit is visiting Nebraska this weekend.
HuskerOnline confirmed that Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Dylan Raiola and his family landed in Omaha late Friday night. The news was reported by The Athletic of the Raiola family’s late-night arrival to Omaha’s Eppley Airport.
Even though it is the NCAA dead period prohibiting prospects from visiting campus or meeting with coaches, Raiola can still come to Lincoln and spend time with his uncle Donovan Raiola, who is also the Huskers’ offensive line coach.

Donovan Raiola was the lone member of the previous coaching staff retained by Matt Rhule back in December.
Dominic Raiola, the father of Dylan, hinted to HuskerOnline a month ago in an interview that there was a possibility they could sneak into Lincoln for a quick visit during the dead period to spend time with Donovan.
“It’s a dead period for most, but I’ve got family there,” Dominic Raiola told HuskerOnline four weeks ago. “It’s not really a dead period for me.”
Dylan Raiola is still expected to visit on Mar. 25
Not only is Raiola visiting Lincoln this weekend, but he’s expected to visit again on Mar. 25, where the Huskers already have 10 high-profile recruiting targets coming in that weekend.

Mar. 25 will be the first big recruiting weekend for Rhule and his staff for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Raiola is also slated to visit Georgia in March, and USC, Texas, Oregon and a few others remain heavily in the picture for his recruiting.
The visit to Lincoln this weekend definitely comes as a surprise. On Thursday, when HuskerOnline spoke with Dominic Raiola, he did not indicate they would be coming in to see his brother this weekend.
The NCAA recruiting dead period officially comes to a close on Wednesday, allowing schools the chance to host on-campus visitors again.
