Four-star LB Christian Jones is staying home, commits to Nebraska

Omaha (Neb.) Westside linebacker Christian Jones is a Husker. The four-star recruit had been considering Nebraska along with Oklahoma and Miami. The Huskers hosted Jones each of the first two weekends in Lincoln this season. Jones has planned to commit in early to mid-September since he took his official visits this summer.

The Huskers added a critical piece to their 2025 class with the commitment of Christian Jones. The Omaha (Neb.) Westside product is a four-star, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, the No. 212 player overall and the No. 1 player in Nebraska.

Nebraska hosted Jones 13 times, including his official visit on June 14. Jones also visited Oklahoma on June 21 and Auburn on June 7. He also visited USC, Kansas State, Texas A&M, and Florida.

Jones joins the list of in-state recruits already part of the 2025 recruiting class. The Huskers already have commitments from Tyson Terry from Omaha North, Caden VerMaas and Pierce Mooberry from Millard North, Jackson Carpenter from Lincoln Southwest, and Conor Booth from Bishop Neumann.

The Huskers hosted four of their top 2025 targets this past weekend for the Colorado game. Jones attended with five-star athlete Michael Terry III, four-star linebacker Dawson Merritt, an Alabama commitment, and four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills, an Oklahoma commitment.

Christian Jones is now the top-rated commitment in the 2025 class for Nebraska. He is the 19th known commitment for the Huskers.
