Grand Island native Christian Ellsworth joins Matt Rhule's coaching staff
Grand Island native Christian Ellsworth’s coaching career has taken off fairly quickly.
The former Northern Iowa quarterback signed with the Panthers out of Grand Island Northwest in 2016. Ellsworth is just three years removed from his playing days in Cedar Falls. He spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons as an offensive graduate assistant at Kansas State under Chris Klieman.
This past season he worked as an offensive GA under new Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield at South Carolina, and now he’ll follow him back to his home state.

Ellsworth has officially moved up from graduate assistant to now an offensive analyst. His announcement comes on the same day that current Husker analyst Steve Cooper took the offensive coordinator job at FCS Maine.
The former 6-foot-4, 210-pound Ellsworth received several Division I looks out of high school after a strong showing at the All-American Underclassman Combine in San Antonio. He also took part in the 2016 Nebraska Shrine Bowl.
He’ll now get the chance to work under Matt Rhule and Satterfield at Nebraska.
