Huskers score 6-4 Texas middle blocker/outside hitter Ayden Ames
2024 Prosper (Texas) High School middle blocker/outside hitter Ayden Ames is going to be a Husker, she announced on social media on Saturday.
The 6-foot-4 athlete is the top middle blocker in the class of 2024 and the No. 5 overall prospect by PrepVolleyball.com.
The 2021 PrepVolleyball high school All-American second-team selection plays club volleyball for TAV 16 Black which is ranked No. 10 on PrepVolleyball’s National Club Rankings.
At Prosper, Ames had 455 kills, 50 blocks a .245 hitting percentage as a sophomore in 2021. She averaged 3.6 kills per set and 0.4 blocks per set.
The six-rotation player served 46 aces with an average of 0.4 aces per set and had 138 digs over the 128 sets she played during her first season on varsity.

The Dallas Morning News named Ames the 2021 All-Area Newcomer of the Year and she was also the 2021 District 5-6A Newcomer of the Year.
Ames is the third class of 2024 player to commit to Nebraska in the last five days. She joins Olathe (Kansas) Northwest outside hitter Skyler Pierce and Bennington (Nebraska) libero Olivia Mauch.
All three of the Huskers’ 2024 commits will be in Tulsa in July for the U.S. U19 National Training Team.
College coaches have been allowed to contact class of 2024 athletes since June 15 and Nebraska’s 2024 scholarships are filling up quickly.
