Nebraska adds commitment from IMG Academy CB Syncere Safeeullah
The Nebraska football team added another commitment. This time IMG Academy cornerback Syncere Safeeullah has committed to the Huskers.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Safeeullah made his announcement on Twitter on Monday morning. This past season at IMG Academy, Safeeullah had seven interceptions, 11 pass breakups, 43 total tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked punt.
“Yes sir I committed!” Safeeullah said. “I have not visited Nebraska yet and will be in Nebraska this coming weekend for an official visit.
“I have been talking to Evan Cooper the defensive backs coach the most from Nebraska. He says that he sees me as a boundary corner or if I put on enough weight I could be a safety. I am fine playing either role.”
Developing into the best possible player
Safeeullah says that he is a little over 6-foot-2 and weighs around 170 pounds. He says that he believes in the coaching staff that is at Nebraska now under head coach Matt Rhule. Safeeullah believes that the Huskers will get things turned around and they can develop him to get him ready for the pros.

“The coaching staff at Nebraska is going to get things changed around and I think that they can make me a better player,” Safeeullah said. “I think that they can help me get to the League.”
There was no existing relationship between Safeeullah and the Nebraska staff from when he attended high school in Tennessee. Syncere played for the Post Grad team at IMG this last season and is eligible to enroll at Nebraska in January.
Safeeullah said that he was considering other opportunities from Vanderbilt, Alabama-Birmingham and Middle Tennessee State.
He returned two of his seven interceptions for touchdowns, and only allowed three touchdowns all season in coverage.
