Nebraska adds Florida OL Micah Mazzccua to 2024 roster
Former Baylor and now Florida offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua will play his final year of college football at Nebraska.
Matt Rhule and his coaching staff recruited the 6-foot-5, 325-pound Mazzccua to Baylor. Mazzccua is originally from Philadelphia, where Rhule and his coaching staff have deep ties.

A year ago, Mazzccua was on the radar as a transfer target to Nebraska but chose the Gators over the Huskers. Many thought he was heading to NU at the time of his decision. He took an official visit to Lincoln but chose the Gators despite his connections to the Husker staff.
Now, he’ll reunite with Rhule and his coaching staff. With Nebraska’s current scholarship situation, it’s assumed Mazzccua will join the team as a walk-on while immediately factoring into the mix on the interior offensive line.

The Husker lost Nouredin Nouili to graduation, and Ethan Piper’s status for 2024 remains unknown after he tore all three ligaments in his knee at the end of the season. Nouili and Piper were the Big Red’s top two guards a year ago.
Mazzccua started 11 of 12 games at right guard for Florida in 2023, playing 743 snaps. During his time at Baylor, Mazzccua played in 20 games and made ten starts for the Bears.
He is just the fourth transfer player the Huskers have added to the roster, joining defensive back Blye Hill (St. Francis), wide receiver Isaiah Neyor (Texas) and running back Dante Dowdell (Oregon).
