Nebraska adds portal commit from East Tennessee State DL Jaylen George

It’s been a busy week of transfer portal visitor activity for Nebraska. On Tuesday, NU landed its third portal commitment of the 2025 cycle from East Tennessee State defensive lineman Jaylen George.
The 6-foot-2, 260-pound George told HuskerOnline he committed to the Huskers on Tuesday, and his signing with the school should be announced as early as tomorrow.

“I just signed the papers,” George told HuskerOnline. “I loved everything about the visit – the facilities, academics and the people. Everything was amazing and top tier. It was honestly jaw-dropping.”
George joins former Missouri EDGE Williams Nwaneri and New Hampshire long snapper Kevin Gallic members of Nebraska’s 2025 portal class, with several more additions expected.
George comes to NU with three years to play two.
“They see me as more of a run stopping defensive end that can also blitz from all angles,” George said.

George was a first-team all-conference selection in 2024
As a sophomore at ETSU, George was a first-team all-conference selection with 33 total tackles and six tackles for loss, and half a sack. PFF credits George with 501 total snaps and 23 QB pressures. He carries an overall grade on PFF of 78.1
Before entering the portal, George had no connection to Nebraska or its coaching staff.
“They just found me in the portal,” George said. “Then they saw that I was an all-conference selection and really liked my film and saw that I made plays.”
Even though Nebraska has not officially announced its new defensive line coach Terry Bradden, George said he was also able to visit with him briefly.
“We talked on the phone, and he said he can’t wait to get up there and coach me,” George said.
Besides Nebraska, George also heard from Louisville, Tulsa and Buffalo. However, he had his sights set on the Huskers and he intended to commit if everything checked out on the visit.
“I’m excited to get to work,” George said. “I’ll be back up there in January.”
