Nebraska adds speedy 2026 cornerback CJ Bronaugh to commitment list
Nebraska hosted CJ Bronaugh for the UCLA game in early November. Three and a half weeks later, Bronaugh knew he wanted to become a Husker. The three-star cornerback from Winter Garden (Flor.) Windermere is the No. 26 cornerback in the nation and the No. 55 player in Florida in the 2026 class, according to On3.
“In talking to all of the coaches at Nebraska, I really love the community, coaches, culture, and the area,” Bronaugh said. “I know they can coach me good and get me ready for the future. I know that they can help me develop into a better person.”
Nebraska hired former NFL assistant coach John Butler this summer for the secondary and passing game coordinator role. Bronaugh is excited to work with Coach Butler because of his time in the NFL, and he knows Nebraska can get him ready to play at the next level.
“He obviously knows what he is doing and what he’s talking about. I get to go to Nebraska and get coached by someone, and that’s really amazing. It’s cool.”

Bronaugh looked back at his time in Lincoln a few weeks ago and said that the Nebraska fans still stand out. He also likes the coaching staff, who can help him on and off the football field.
“There were 85,000 people there in the stadium for the game,” Bronaugh said. “All of the Nebraska fans stood up for the whole game. It was crazy.”
Bronaugh has been clocked as fast as 4.3 in the 40-yard dash and has a 10.33/100-meter dash to his credit. Bronaugh committed to Nebraska over other offers from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Penn State, UCF, Florida State, Indiana, Wisconsin, and others.
