Nebraska announces three players who will represent team for Big Ten Media Days
Nebraska will take two defenders and one offensive stalwart to Big Ten Media Days later this month.
Lineman Ty Robinson and safety Isaac Gifford will represent the Husker defense, a unit that comes off a stellar 2023 campaign. Meanwhile, center Ben Scott will represent an offense that figures to improve in 2024 with key additions.
All three Husker representatives are seniors.
Big Ten Media Days this season will debut a three-day format, July 23-25, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, with Commissioner Tony Petitti addressing the media on day one. The Big Ten Network will provide live coverage all three days.
Nebraska’s appearance will be July 24 along with Iowa, Michigan State, Penn State, UCLA, and USC. Husker second-year head coach Matt Rhule will lead the NU contingent.
Day one will have Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, and Wisconsin, and the third day will have Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington.

Robinson was a big part of a Blackshirt defense that posted Nebraska’s best rushing defense (92.9 yards per game), total defense (303.5 yards per game) and scoring defense (18.3 points per game) since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011.
Gifford, a Lincoln Southeast graduate, also was critical to the unit’s success. The 6-1, 205-pounder led Nebraska with a career-high 86 tackles, becoming the first Husker defensive back to have 80 tackles in a season since Nathan Gerry in 2014. Gifford also ranked second on the team with a career-high eight pass breakups and finished with a career-high 6.5 tackles for loss and one interception.
As for Scott, the transfer from Arizona State played in all 12 games last season with 11 starts. His play helped Nebraska rank second in the Big Ten in rushing. Scott — like Robinson and Gifford — was recognized for his play as an honorable-mention All-Big Ten selection.
