Brumbaugh ignites early offensive surge
For the second consecutive game, Cayden Brumbaugh set the tone at the plate. The junior outfielder led off the first inning with a triple down the left-field line, and Max Buttenback wasted no time bringing him home with a sacrifice fly.
After Walsh put up another zero in the second, the Huskers’ bats came alive. Nebraska plated four runs in the bottom half of the inning, building a 5-0 lead and taking firm control of the game.

Buttenback continued his strong night at the plate, launching his first home run of the season—a two-run blast over the right-field wall in the fourth inning. The home run was Nebraska’s second of the young season, further extending the lead.
