Davion Dixon is up to 10 offers now. The offer from Nebraska to the 6-foot-3 and 305-pound junior-to-be from Miami (Fla.) Belen Jesuit Prep caught his eye, though. He knows a few things about Nebraska already, and Dixon is now discussing a possible trip to Nebraska later this summer.

“I was very excited to get the offer from Nebraska,” Dixon said. “Nebraska is a great school with great football fans. I am humbled that they reached out to me and I am very thankful for their interest. I am hoping to check out their campus, maybe this summer.”

The Huskers were the 10th offer for Dixon. The talented defensive lineman has been on the recruiting radar since his freshman year.

“I am up to 10 division one offers now. I have Delaware State, Florida State, FAU, Syracuse, Michigan State, Penn State, Louisville, Auburn, Pittsburgh, and now Nebraska.”

Put on Dixon’s film, and you will see some excellent versatility. He says that he can move between the one-technique and the three-technique.

“I can play either the nose or defensive tackle,” Dixon said. “I pass rushed in certain looks, but played the nose to plug up the middle too.”

Dixon will make some more trips this summer

The summer trips will come down to where his parents can get Dixon. His family tries to get out and see a few places each summer, even visiting some schools that have yet to offer.

“Honestly, I am willing to see any school my parents can take me to. My dad and I go to a couple of schools each years to see what the campuses and towns are like.

“I went to Florida State. They were the first school to offer me when I was a freshman. I have also been to Florida, Miami, FIU, UCF, and Notre Dame. I don’t have offers from all of those schools, but that’s where we went.”

Through the visits, he says that he has been developing some ideas of what is essential in choosing a school.

“The first thing for me is academic support and resources,” Dixon said. “I want to graduate with a degree. The second thing is the coaching staff and then it would be location and tradition.”
