Nebraska gains commitment from UA All-American DB Ethan Nation
The Nebraska staff is still adding recruits to the 2023 class. Ethan Nation from Roswell (Ga.) took an official visit to Nebraska in December and left impressed.
Following his visit, he determined he would announce his commitment at the UA All-American game.
“They just got me up there fast, and they just showed me a whole bunch of love,” Nation said after his commitment on ESPN 2. “They just made me feel at home.”
Ethan Nation can play anywhere in the secondary
Nation said the interest from Nebraska came about very quickly. The three-star cornerback missed a couple of calls, fielded the next one, and the Huskers were sending a car to pick him up and bring him to Lincoln for an official visit.
“They see me playing all four positions in the secondary,” Nation said. “They said that they can see me at both cornerbacks and both safety spots. That’s what coach Rhule told me. I am the most comfortable at cornerback, but I could play safety. I could adapt.”

With no existing relationships with any staff, things have come together very quickly between Nebraska and Nation.
“Coach Cooper is the coach that I was working with to get the visit set up,” Nation said. “I didn’t have a previous relationship with any of the coaching staff when it comes to recruiting. The visit came out of left field.”
Nation, a 5-foot-10 and 162-pounder, joins Dwight Bootle from Miami (Fla.) Palmetto, Rahmir Stewart from Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute, and Syncere Safeeullah as the other members in the recruiting class. Nebraska has also landed portal transfer safety Corey Collier from Florida.
