Nebraska earns an 8 seed in NCAA Tournament, will face Texas A&M
For the first time in a decade, Nebraska heard its name called on NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday.
After recording one of its most successful regular seasons in program history, the Huskers earned an 8 seed in the 2024 bracket. They will face Texas A&M in the opening round on Friday in Memphis, Tennessee.
This marks NU’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014 and just its eighth trip to the Big Dance ever. It’s no secret that Nebraska has never won an NCAA Tournament game, going 0-7 all-time.
As if the tourney berth wasn’t significant enough, the Huskers will also face the school that just lured away its former athletic director, Trev Alberts, earlier this week.

NU finished the regular season at 23-9 overall and 12-8 in Big Ten Conference play. That marked its second-highest win total ever, trailing only its 26 victories in 1990-91.

The Huskers advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament this week in Minneapolis. They dominated Indiana in Friday night’s quarterfinals, 93-66, then fell to eventual tourney champion Illinois on Saturday night, 98-87.
That was the furthest Nebraska had advanced in a Big Ten Tournament since joining the league in 2011 and its first conference semifinal appearance since 2006.
