Nebraska libero Lexi Rodriguez named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week
Nebraska libero Lexi Rodriguez is the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
She led the Huskers to two sweeps over Michigan and Iowa to claim the Big Ten championship.
The junior averaged 5.67 digs per set over the two matches. She also had six total assists.

Rodriguez had 15 digs against Michigan and four assists. Against Iowa, she had 19 digs and two assists. The captain had nine digs in the third set to pull away from the Hawkeyes.
Nebraska took down Michigan 25-15, 25-12, 25-20 on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. They clinched at least a share of the conference title but claimed the title outright with a sweep over Iowa in Coralville, Iowa. The Huskers won 25-21, 25-21, 25-15 over the Hawkeyes.
The Sterling, Illinois native has received five Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week awards over her career.

She is averaging 3.67 digs per set during her junior season, ranking her eighth in the Big Ten. Rodriguez also has 111 assists and 13 aces.
Rodriguez is one of six Huskers, who have received a Big Ten weekly award this season.
Junior and co-captain Merritt Beason has four Big Ten Player of the Week awards. Setter Bergen Reilly has three Big Ten Setter of the Week awards and two Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards.
