The Huskers made an offer that many Nebraska fans have been waiting for. Nebraska called Thomas Heiberger from Sioux Falls (S.D.) Jefferson on Wednesday and extended an offer to the linebacker. The 6-foot-4 and 203-pound Heiberger caught up with the linebackers coach from Nebraska to discuss the offer.

“I talked with Coach Dvoracek over the phone,” Heiberger said. “It’s exciting to hear from Nebraska and I was pumped to get the offer.”

Not a lot of details today between Thomas Heiberger and Nebraska

Nebraska assistant coach Dvoracek was one of the last hires by Matt Rhule to fill out his staff. The conversation today could have been more detailed. Nothing was discussed about the defense Nebraska plans to run or where the Huskers see Heiberger playing for them.

“I wasn’t able to talk much on that at this point. That’ll be something we talk more about later on I’m sure.

Thomas Heiberger looking forward to visiting Nebraska

Heiberger has yet to go to Nebraska on a visit. He says he is hopeful that he will get to Lincoln at some point this spring.

“I haven’t been to Lincoln on a visit yet,” Heiberger said. “Hopefully I can stop by sometime this spring and get to know more of the coaching staff and see what Nebraska has to offer.”

Heiberger took a visit last week to another Big Ten school. There are no other plans to take any trips at the moment, but there is a need to see what visits can be made this spring.

“I visited Wisconsin last week. I need to talk some things over with my parents to see what schools I can see this spring.”
