Nebraska was already facing a significant challenge today vs. No. 2 Michigan. Now, the Huskers will be without two notable defensive starters.

NU ruled out linebacker Luke Reimer (undisclosed) and defensive end Cameron Lenhardt (ankle) for Saturday’s game. They were the only Husker players on the official Big Ten pre-game injury report.

Reimer left last week’s game vs. Louisiana Tech in the first quarter and did not return, watching the second half in street clothes. Head coach Matt Rhule had listed the senior as questionable all week.

Reimer leads NU with 2.5 sacks and three quarterback hurries and has started every game for the Huskers this season. He recently became just the 13th Nebraska defender to reach 250 career tackles.

Lenhardt will miss his second straight contest after injuring his ankle in Nebraska’s win over Northern Illinois. Rhule had expressed much more optimism in the true freshmen returning to action this week, but he ended up a late scratch.

Blaise Gunnerson will start at defensive end again in place of Lenhardt, while Nick Henrich and John Bullock will be the primary inside linebackers.
