Nebraska setter Bergen Reilly earns fifth Big Ten weekly award

No. 1 Nebraska setter Bergen Reilly is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
She has earned a Big Ten weekly award five times this season. The 6-foot-1 freshman has also received three Big Ten Setter of the Week awards.
Reilly led the Huskers to sweeps over Maryland and Rutgers. She averaged 11.33 assists per set and 2.00 digs per set. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota native had 34 assists and ten digs against Maryland for her seventh double-double of the season.
She had five kills, three blocks and one service ace over the two matches. Reilly had 34 assists in both matches.
Nebraska hit .349 against Rutgers and had a .384 hitting percentage against Maryland. With Reilly at the helm, the Huskers are hitting .288 this season.
Reilly is NU’s most decorated player so far this season. However, Nebraska has five total players who have won a weekly honor in 2023.

Three takes from No. 1 Nebraska volleyball win over Rutgers for its 13th sweep of the season
Freshman outside hitter Harper Murray has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times this season. Libero Lexi Rodriguez was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after she averaged 4.86 digs per set in Nebraska’s wins over Michigan State and Penn State.
Outside hitter Lindsay Krause earned the Player of the Week award after averaging 3.43 kills per set and hitting .458 against Michigan State and Michigan.
Opposite hitter Merritt Beason is a three-time Big Ten Player of the Week honoree. She was also the AVCA National Player of the Week after NU’s win over Wisconsin.
Next up, Nebraska is on the road to take on No. 16 Penn State on Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. Then they travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, to rematch Rutgers for the second time in one week at noon on Sunday. That match is on B1G+.
