Choboy is ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the class of 2023 by PrepVolleyball.com. She committed to Minnesota on July 27, 2021. The news of Minnesota Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon’s last season as head coach of the Golden Gophers made her open up her recruiting again.

“Three weeks ago, my life and volleyball career took an unexpected turn,” she said in her Instagram post.

“Fortunately, I have strong family support and people that I trust who helped me navigate this difficult process,” Choboy said. “I cannot truly put into words, how appreciative I am, for the way my family and I have been welcomed and treated by the coaches, staff, and players at the University of Nebraska. I cannot wait to be a part of the great tradition of Husker Volleyball!”

Choboy was the libero from the US volleyball U19 Pan American Cup team this summer. She was voted the team’s best receiver.
