The Nebraska baseball team rounded out their 2022 Fall schedule with a 12-9 win over Kansas in dramatic fashion. It was yet another 14-inning scrimmage that the Huskers took down to the wire.

It was a back-and-forth affair in Lawrence, Kansas as the Big Red trailed heading into the final inning of the game. Two runs from NU in the 13th inning brought the KU lead down to just two. With a runner on first, Ben Columbus launched a rocket over the wall in right-center field to tie it 9-9. Nebraska rallied three more runs across the plate before the Kansas coaching staff called the inning due to a pitcher shortage.

The Husker defense played their part as well. 12 Nebraska pitchers saw the mound, 11 of which gave up no more than two runs a-piece. Michael Garza was the final Big Red pitcher on the mound and he went to work to close the game. The grad-transfer faced just three batters, returning the side and securing a win for NU.

Nebraska used 12 different pitcher in this game.

This game concludes Nebraska’s 2022 Fall Ball season where they went 2-0 with their other win coming over Omaha 9-1.
