Nebraska Women’s Basketball lands former Kansas State forward Eliza Maupin

Nebraska Women’s Basketball lands its first transfer portal addition of the off-season in former Kansas State forward Eliza Maupin. The 6-foot-3 forward has one season of eligibility remaining.

Maupin averaged 3.9 points per game and 2.8 rebounds in 2024-25 during her junior season. She shot 63.4% from the field and 69.2% from the free-throw line. Maupin recorded a career-season-high 29 assists and a career-high 17 blocked shots.

She started two games last season with three starts over her career. The Webster Groves (Mo.) High School product was an important player off the bench for the Wildcats. Maupin played in 98 games over three seasons at K-State. She averaged 12.3 minutes per game in the 2022-23 and 2024-25 seasons.

At Webster Groves, she was the No. 21 prospect in the Class of 2022 by Prep Girls Hoops Missouri. As a senior, she was on the 2021-22 Class 5 All-State Team and the Class 5 District 2 Player of the Year.

Husker forwards for the 2025-26 season

Maupin joins an already experienced forward group.

The group is highlighted by 2023-24 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Natalie Potts, who sat out the 2024-25 season with an ACL injury.

Jessica Petrie, a junior next season, and Petra Bozan, a soon-to-be sophomore, round out the group. As a sophomore, Petrie averaged 6.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while averaging 20 minutes per game.

Bozan shot 51.8% from the field as a freshman. She averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. She is also capable of playing center.

Amiah Hargrove is coming off of a strong freshman season. She is a versatility guard/forward, who averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Nebraska is replacing three-time All-Big Ten first-team or second-team center Alexis Markowski. Markowski leaves the Huskers as its all-time career double-double leader (53) and second in career rebounds (1,220). Forward Kendall Coley also graduated.

Maupin adds length and experience to Nebraska’s bigs. But the Huskers will need at least one more established player to round out the group.
