Nebraska Women's Basketball selected as No. 6 seed in NCAA Tournament, battle Texas A&M
Nebraska Women’s Basketball (21-11, 11-7) is going dancing. They were selected as a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers travel to Corvallis, Oregon to battle No. 11 Texas A&M (19-12) in the first round. The game begins at 9:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 22 and can be watched on ESPNU.
The winner of Nebraska vs. the Aggies will take on the victor of No. 3 Oregon State and No. 14 Eastern Michigan.
Former Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts left the Huskers for the same position at Texas A&M five days before the NCAA Selection Show. The No. 8 Husker Men’s team will also take No. 9 Texas A&M in the first round of the tournament.

The Huskers were selected in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022. They lost to Gonzaga 68-55 in Louisville, Ky. in the first round. They haven’t won an NCAA tournament game since beating Fresno State 75-55 in the first round of the 2014 tournament. Husker Head Coach Amy Williams has not won a NCAA Tournament game in her eight seasons at Nebraska.

Nebraska is coming off a big run in the TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament. They made the Conference Championship game for the first time since 2014.
Senior point guard Jaz Shelley and junior center Alexis Markowski were both selected on the Big Ten All-Tournament team. Shelley averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game during the tournament. She broke the tournament record with 16 made three-pointers.
Markowski averaged 16.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. The All-Big Ten First Team selection now has 40 career double-doubles and is one away from breaking the Nebraska double-double record.
