Ed Foley is out as Nebraska's special teams coordinator
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule will have three new coordinators in 2025. Earlier this season, he replaced offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield with Dana Holgorsen, and John Butler replaced Tony White, who left for Florida State.
On Saturday, Rhule relieved special teams coordinator Ed Foley of those duties. Football Scoop first reported the move, and it was confirmed by the University of Nebraska.

The news comes on the heels of a season when the Huskers had 10 kicks blocked and multiple long snapping issues on field goals and extra points.
Even in Nebraska’s Pinstripe Bowl victory over Boston College, nearly all of the Eagles’ points were due to special teams blunders by the Big Red.
The Eagles blocked an extra point and ran it back for two points, and blocked a punt that helped get the game to 20-15 in the fourth quarter.

In a 14-7 win over Rutgers, the Huskers also had two blocked punts but overcame it because of the play of its defense.
In a 13-10 loss at Iowa, NU touched a punt inside its 5-yard line, giving the Hawkeyes momentum when they were down 10-0, and they found a way to win the game despite going 0-for-10 on third down and having only five first downs in the game, compared to 20 for Nebraska.
Foley was not with staff at Saturday’s basketball game
Foley was not seen with the coaching staff at the UCLA versus Nebraska basketball game Saturday in Lincoln and has also not been on the road recruiting for the last year. Only 10 coaches can be designated to go out on the road, and he lost his spot with the hiring of Jamar Mozee and Keith Williams.
However, Foley did lead the recruitment of new punter Jack McCallister from Washington and long snapper Kevin Gallic from New Hampshire.
