TE Ian Flynt from Texas commits to Nebraska
Katy (Texas) Taylor tight end Ian Flynt has been trending to Nebraska for a while now. The three-star tight end has taken multiple visits to Nebraska since picking up an offer and has close ties to the school. Flynt is rated as the No. 29 tight end in the nation and the No. 91 player in the state of Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Ian Flynt wasn’t in Lincoln this past weekend for a visit, but it didn’t stop him from making a commitment just days following the Nebraska spring game. The 6-foot-5 and 248-pound Flynt was also holding offers from Kansas, Purdue, Houston, Washington State, and others.
Flynt has some unique ties to the University of Nebraska. First, his parents both attended the university and met each other while they were students in Lincoln.
Second, Flynt’s older sister transferred to do track from Stanford to Nebraska in January. That transfer along with the offer from Nebraska came in the same window of time which led to Flynt taking a visit very early in January.

Multiple tight ends will likely be taken in the 2024 recruiting class for Nebraska. Nebraska has offered multiple in-state tight-end recruits. The Huskers first offered Carter Nelson from Ainsworth (Neb.) and more recently have offered Eric Ingwerson from Papillion (Neb.) Papillion-Lavista. Ingwerson committed to Pitt shortly after receiving their offer.
Flynt said that Vince Guinta got the ball rolling with him and Nebraska and handed it off to Bob Wager who was announced a little later as the tight ends coach.
