Buck Stops Here: Inside Carolina's Path Forward

Welcome. We have arrived here, at On3, and for the first time in our existence, we are joining a new network partner of our own volition. 

Yes, you read that right. 

Previous moves of Inside Carolina – from Rivals, to Independent, to Scout, to 247sports – were all necessitated by an industry that shifted its feet beneath us. This move happened because we weighed all our options and felt that a move to On3 represented our best chance to continue fulfilling our mission of covering UNC sports with passion and professionalism. 

That is no knock against those we have worked with at 247Sports. We have a great deal of respect for those we dealt with there, many of them whom we have worked with at previous stops. We wish them well. 

We made our decision based on what we believed was the best path forward for Inside Carolina, for multiple reasons. 

We have known Shannon Terry, the primary force behind On3, for many years and worked with him at 247Sports. He is that rare visionary who also excels in accomplishing his vision. He surrounds himself with talented and committed associates, many of whom we have also known at previous stops. 

One of his consistent traits over the years has been his emphasis on college sports, which is the basis of everything here at On3. Since we focus solely on college sports as it relates to the University of North Carolina, On3 is a great fit for IC.

We also know many of On3’s other college publishers from previous network affiliations. What we do here is a niche business. Learning from others in this business, finding out what works for others in this industry, and developing relationships with them, sharing information, helps us to deliver the best possible product for our subscribers and readers.

Speaking of our subscribers, our journey to On3 will not be a success without you. As much as anything else, Inside Carolina has always been a community, one that cares about each other. We have interesting debates, even squabbles that take wrong turns, but the bond of our shared interest in UNC sports helps us overcome a world of content that is often divisive. 

We are fortunate and honored that our entire staff has opted to continue their journey with Inside Carolina. Though it is a severely abused notion in the business world, the staff of IC shares many of the traits of a close family. Most of them can measure their association with Inside Carolina not in months or even in years, but in decades. 

Our hope is that you will quickly find yourself at home here, with the same people you have learned to trust continuing to deliver the news, commentary, and analysis of UNC sports you have come to rely on, for some of our subscribers for a quarter of a century.  

To earn your trust has always been, and will continue to be, our goal. We believe that partnering with On3 will help IC continue to be worthy of that trust and look forward to that opportunity.
