2024 linebacker Bodie Kahoun commits to Notre Dame
On Monday morning, Notre Dame landed a verbal commitment from 2024 three-star linebacker Bodie Kahoun. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Kahoun chose the Irish over North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and 12 other Power Five offers.
Last week, Kahoun, a junior at Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry, had scheduled four official visits: to Notre Dame, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. But instead of going on another tour of schools, Kahoun locked in his pledge with the Irish 2024 class.
Kahoun last visited Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game on April 22. He was also in town for s spring practice on March 22. He will return to South Bend on an official visit the weekend of June 9.
“They have done a good job of developing a personal relationship,” Kahoun previously told Blue & Gold. “Their message is that I am a good fit for them as a student-athlete and their locker room, and I can make an impact.”
Since the start of March, Kahoun unofficially visited North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech twice each. He has also reported past unofficial visits to Virginia, NC State, Duke, Utah, Wake Forest, Penn State and South Carolina. The latter three schools never offered him a scholarship.
The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — evaluates Kahoun as the No. 429 overall player, No. 45 linebacker and No. 6 prospect in Virginia. He has an 88.83 rating.
In On3’s own rankings, he’s the No. 42 linebacker, No. 10 prospect in Virginia and has an 89 rating. As a junior, he had 81 tackles, two sacks and one pass breakup.

Kahoun has an On3 NIL Valuation annual value of $28,000. That ranks No. 894 among high school football prospects.
Kahoun was an Ohio State lacrosse commit. He picked up his first football offer from Virginia Tech on Jan. 16. Irish defensive coordinator Al Golden offered him a full-ride football scholarship on Feb. 7. It is unknown if he intends to play lacrosse at Notre Dame.
“It’s still in talks right now,” Kahoun told Blue & Gold after his March visit regarding the possibility of playing both lacrosse and football at ND. “It would be a lot to do, but it’s doable. With Notre Dame being the No. 1 team in the country right now, it’s pretty cool to be offered by them to play lacrosse there as well as football.”
Kahoun is the 16th verbal commitment of Notre Dame’s 2024 class. He joins three-star recruit Teddy Rezac from Omaha (Neb.) Westside, who committed to the Irish on Friday, as ND’s other linebacker pledge in the class. 6-foot-3½, 185-pound Rezac is the No. 796 overall player, No. 46 athlete and No. 7 prospect in Nebraska, according to the On3 Industry Ranking
