BlueandGold.com is excited to announce a rising star in the industry, Ashton Pollard, is joining its staff. Pollard will be a staff reporter, helping cover Notre Dame football and recruiting.
Pollard attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the varsity swim team, then worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, before looking for a career change. The longtime sports fan decided she’d follow her passion and challenge herself by heading to Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill School of Journalism.
After briefly covering the Wildcats for Sports Illustrated and graduating from Medill, Pollard was hired as a staff writer for the On3 National News Desk. She impressed leadership at all levels with her content and work ethic, and when we were looking to fill out our staff she couldn’t have come more highly recommended.
The lifelong Notre Dame fan will be a perfect fit, which is why she aced our interview process in record time. She’s a highly productive writer who will be on top of the news at all times and help take BlueandGold.com to the next level.
Pollard is not the only recent addition worth highlighting. If you haven’t seen it yet, On3 has unveiled several new resources, including:
• NIL valuations for 5,000-plus high school and college athletes. On3 ranks the NCAA’s top 100 athletes in terms of NIL valuation, and Irish tight end Michael Mayer checks in at No. 71 overall among collegiate football and men’s basketball players.
You can read more about NIL valuation, per-post value and the On3 NIL 100 here.
• Another game-changing innovation released by the network is its transfer portal and transfer portal wire. National expert Matt Zenitz owns transfer portal coverage, in addition to coaching searches, a fact Fighting Irish fans found out first-hand this winter when he was the first reporter to break the news of Notre Dame hiring Marcus Freeman as head coach.

The On3 transfer portal will show not only high school rankings, but also college ratings based on what players have done on the field, plus NIL valuation, distance from home for perspective landing spots and On3’s recruiting prediction machine, the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to project where athletes will wind up.
No other network has anything like what On3 has created with this amazing resource, and like Blue & Gold on the On3 network, it is just getting started. The On3 database is still only 33 percent released.
The innovation and vision of Shannon Terry and his team are the main reasons we couldn’t wait to move our iconic magazine and website over to On3, and they have not disappointed through 25 days. The next 25 should be even more exciting, but they won’t compare to the 25 that come after, and so on.
Welcome to the team, Ashton.
If you’re new to On3, welcome. Buckle up and stay tuned. We’re still just getting started …
