Newsstand: Ravens exercise fifth-year option for former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton

Former Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton is on track to be a Baltimore Raven for a long time. The team exercised the fifth-year option on Hamilton’s contract with the goal of working toward a multi-year contract extension.
Hamilton is entering his fourth season in the NFL. The 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hamilton is already a two-time All-Pro. He became an every-game starter in year two, and last year he started all 17 regular season games for the Ravens. He registered a career-high 107 total tackles.
Hamilton owns the NFL record for most sacks in the first half of a game by a defensive back. He had 3 against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 24, 2023. He tied the Ravens record for interceptions in a single game. He had 2 against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 25, 2023.
In South Bend, Hamilton was a Consensus All-American in 2021. His appeared in 31 games in a Fighting Irish uniform across three seasons. His junior year was cut short after just seven games because of a knee injury, but he still had 3 INT that year to finish with 8 for his college career. He also recorded 138 total tackles and 16 passes defended.
