Biggest Notre Dame movers in the 2022 On3 Consensus Rankings
It has been a big week in 2022 recruiting, as the major recruiting websites have made their final changes to their rankings following the All-American Bowl.
On3 made their ultimate decisions on players via the On300 on Monday, but the three additional sites included in the On3 Consensus rankings (Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN) trickled in throughout the week. Now, the Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — is complete.
Let’s take a look at the biggest movers in the 2022 Notre Dame class. To start, five Irish players improved their On3 Consensus ranking by at least 25 spots.
OT Aamil Wagner: No. 139 to No. 77
Wagner earned five-star status from On3, but he remains a four-star recruit in the On3 Consensus rankings despite making a huge jump in the Rivals rankings since December (No. 196 to No. 124). He fell slightly in the 247Sports rankings over the last month, but it was a relatively inconsequential drop. He finished as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the class per the On3 Consensus; On3’s own rankings have him as the No. 3 tackle.
In addition to the All-American Bowl, Wagner played in last Saturday’s Polynesian Bowl.
LB Tyson Ford: No. 122 to No. 90
Wagner jumped ahead of Ford in the On3 Consensus rankings, but Ford still made the move into the top 100. Ford’s place in the rankings is heavily influenced by Rivals, who lists him as the No. 50 overall prospect in his class. He shot up substantially since December in their rankings, moving from No. 105 to the No. 50 spot.
EDGE Aiden Gobaira: No. 202 to No. 173
Gobaira fell in the On3 rankings, but he got a huge bump from Rivals (No. 207 to No. 82), hence the climb in the On3 Consensus. On3’s Charles Power told BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer the movement in the On3 rankings was less about Gobaira’s performance in San Antonio and more about those around him performing exceptionally well.
TE Eli Raridon: No. 182 to No. 128
Despite suffering a torn ACL in a high school basketball game in late December, Raridon moved up substantially in the final On3 Consensus rankings. The top tight end in Notre Dame’s 2022 class inched toward the On3 Consensus top 100 as two of the four main recruiting sites have him as one of their 100 best players. 247Sports has him ranked the highest of the four sites, and he moved up 10 spots in their rankings since Early Signing Day.
TE Holden Staes: No. 272 to No. 223
The second tight end in the 2022 Irish class also moved up a substantial amount in the On3 Consensus Rankings. On3 is high on the Georgia native, although he has been pretty steadily rising in the Rivals rankings as well. On3 is the only site with Staes in their top 200.
Staes also played in last weekend’s Polynesian Bowl, and he impressed those present. He could be a standout pass-catching tight end for the Irish.

A collection of Notre Dame players slid down in the On3 Consensus rankings as well.
LB Nolan Ziegler: No. 244 to No. 269
Ziegler fell slightly on the list, but it was relatively inconsequential. According to the recruiting experts, Ziegler was decent at the All-American Bowl, but he did not do much to move up in the rankings. As a result, he slid down 25 spots. He fell 12 spots in the 247Sports rankings since Early Signing Day, again a pretty mild slip.
QB Steve Angeli: No. 398 to No. 598
Angeli’s drop was the largest in the 2022 class. The quarterback is now a three-star recruit according to three of the four recruiting sites; ESPN still lists him as a four-star quarterback and the No. 178 prospect nationally.
Due to the prominence of his position, Angeli still has the highest NIL valuation in Notre Dame’s 2022 class. His current valuation has increased 1 percent in the last four weeks and currently sits at $30,000.
IOL Ty Chan: No. 162 to No. 290
Chan remains the top recruit out of Massachusetts among three of the four recruiting sites, but he fell in the latest Consensus rankings. Chan tumbled over 100 spots for Rivals and nearly 50 spots on 247Sports.
The lineman did not enroll early at Notre Dame, but he spoke with BlueandGold.com recently about meeting with offensive line coach Harry Hiestand. Despite the fall in the rankings, Chan seems excited to get to South Bend and grateful for the opportunity to have one of the nation’s best offensive line coaches at his disposal.
IOL Ashton Craig: No. 420 to No. 497
According to Singer, Craig put on an impressive run blocking performance but struggled in pass blocking. As a result, his stock suffered. He remains a four-star recruit for On3, but he is a Consensus three star. Like his fellow offensive lineman, Craig received a visit on Friday from Hiestand.
