Notre Dame 2025 quarterback target Blake Hebert sets commitment date
One of Notre Dame’s top targets in the 2025 class has set a commitment date. Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic quarterback Blake Hebert will reveal his college commitment this Friday, the four-star passer announced on Twitter on Tuesday.
After a Saturday unofficial college recruiting visit to Notre Dame, the 6-foot-2 1/2, 213-pound Hebert reported a Fighting Irish scholarship offer. But Gino Guidugli had familiarized himself with Hebert before that. The first-year Irish quarterbacks coach evaluated Hebert at his high school on May 19.
The rising junior passer has blown up since the start of May, reporting 15 of his 16 Power Five scholarship offers. During that time frame, Hebert has also paid visits to Clemson (June 1) and Penn State (May 20). Neither team has a quarterback committed in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Before gaining traction from Power Five programs on the recruiting trail, Hebert reported two visits each to Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia. He also attended a game at Michigan. However, the Wolverines have not yet offered him a scholarship.
The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Hebert the No. 187 overall player, No. 13 quarterback and No. 1 prospect in Massachusetts. He has a 91.16 rating.
On3 ranks Hebert as the No. 65 overall player, No. 6 quarterback and No. 1 prospect in Massachusetts. On3 gave him a 92 rating.
As a sophomore, Hebert competed 111-185 (60%) of his passes for 1,748 yards and 24 touchdowns in 12 games. Hebert was the starting quarterback on Notre Dame 2023 linebacker signee Preston Zinter’s high school team.
Hebert’s On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $58,000.
Where the rest of Notre Dame 2025 quarterback recruiting stands
In addition to Hebert, Notre Dame has offered six other quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Three of those quarterbacks — Deuce Knight, K.J. Lacey and George MacIntyre — picked up their Irish scholarship offer during ND’s “Pot of Gold Day” recruiting event on March 17.

Notre Dame also offered Cutter Boley on “Pot of Gold Day.” But Boley committed to Kentucky and reclassified to the 2024 class last month.
The 6-1, 180-pound Lacey from Saraland (Ala.) High pledged to Texas on June 3. Meanwhile, the Irish have lacked traction with Nashville (Tenn) Brentwood Academy’s MacIntyre. The 6-5 1/2, 185-pound MacIntyre is visiting several schools during the summer, but Notre Dame isn’t one of them.
The Irish appeared to have an edge for Lucedale (Miss.) George County’s Knight after hosting him on an unofficial visit in the spring. However, the 6-4 1/2, 180-pound passer canceled his return visit that was supposed to take place last weekend.
Before ND’s 2025 class-themed recruiting event in the spring, the Irish sent out three quarterback offers: Bryce Underwood, Antwann Hill and Ryan Montgomery.
Underwood and Hill are both longshots, as Notre Dame has not yet been able to get them to campus. Former Irish head coach Brian Kelly and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees offered Montgomery. However, Guidugli has chosen not to pursue him.
