First look at Notre Dame football 2024 Shamrock Series jerseys
Notre Dame football released its 2024 Shamrock Series uniforms Wednesday, and they did it with some New York flair.
Irish head coach Marcus Freeman and what appeared to be around two dozen players spoofed the 2013 movie The Wolf of Wall Street to reveal the jerseys. Freeman channeled former stockbroker and financial criminal Jordan Belfort, whom Leonardo DiCaprio played in the movie.
The uniforms, which Notre Dame will wear Nov. 23 against Army at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y., feature blue-gray jerseys and pants, as well as reflective gold letters in gothic font.
The primary color is a tribute to the Four Horsemen, whose nickname Grantland Rice coined in a 1924 article. His lede for that story was, “Outlined against a blue-gray October sky, the Four Horsemen rode again.”
In the parody video, Freeman gave a Belfort-style hype speech to his players.
“I’m gonna let you in on a secret about these uniforms,” Freeman said. “They’re not gonna win the game by themselves. Without you, they’re just worthless hunks of material.”
Freeman ended the speech by slamming the microphone against his head and doing his best DiCaprio-as-Belfort impression, while his players cheered.

In each of Freeman’s seasons first three years as head coach, the Irish have gone all out to reveal their alternate uniforms with clever parodies.
In 2022, Freeman traveled to Las Vegas with tight end Michael Mayer and Vyper Isaiah Foskey to film a parody of 2009’s The Hangover. Together, they released the white jerseys with gold numbers that the Irish wore in their 28-20 win over BYU at Allegiant Stadium.
Last year, Freeman and running back Audric Estimé recreated the iconic “Show me the money!” scene from 1996’s Jerry Maguire. With quarterback Sam Hartman in the background, Estimé shouted “Show me the green jerseys!” as the Irish unveiled their green get-ups for what would be a 17-14 loss to Ohio State in South Bend.
The Irish are 11-0 in the Shamrock Series, which debuted in 2009. Previous locations have included Soldier Field in Chicago, the Alamodome in San Antonio and Fenway Park in Boston, among others.
