Four-star 2023 RB, Notre Dame target Jayden Limar announces commitment date
Four-star 2023 running back Jayden Limar is ready to go public with his college commitment, setting the date for May 26 at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports HQ. In addition to Arizona, Michigan and Oregon, Notre Dame is one of four finalists. The 5-11, 190-pound rusher out of Lake Stevens (Wash.) High has been a top target of Irish running backs coach Deland McCullough.
Limar has been trending in Notre Dame’s direction recently, as the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) lists the Irish’s chances at 97 percent right now. He most recently visited South Bend the weekend of April 23 for the spring game. He also attended last fall’s USC contest.
The West Coast native is the No. 16 running back, No. 4 player from Washington and No. 267 player overall in the 2023 class per On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The Irish already have one running back commit in the 2023 class: four-star Miami Christopher Columbus’ Sedrick Irvin Jr. Additionally, should Limar choose the Irish, he would be the 10th top-300 On3 Consensus recruit in the 2023 group.
Limar has already expressed he is a huge fan of Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.
“I talk to him more than any other head coach in the country — that’s for sure,” Limar told BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer. “He’s a great head coach. He’s a really good, personable guy who wants to know about your everyday life, not just the football side of things.”

Limar reportedly ran a 4.53 40-yard dash per laser time at the National Preps Showcase March 12 and was also named running back MVP at the camp.
He helped lead Lake Stevens to an undefeated regular season last fall, but his team fell in the 2021 4A Washington State title game. Limar totaled 1,918 yards from scrimmage and 24 scores on his way to earning The Herald‘s 2021 all-area first-team offense honors.
Back home, Limar is good friends with incoming Irish wide receiver Tobias Merriweather. The two players train together with Ford Sports Performance in Washington.
Limar also has a younger brother, Jayshon, in the 2025 class who already has an Arizona offer to play running back.
