Notes

— I’ve been doing this article for as long as I can remember after signing day, because I find it really interesting as a recruiting nerd to compare what the prospects have been listed as by On3 with what they’re at according to Notre Dame. Some of the heights/weights listed by On3 are fairly old; others have been updated more recently. But again, I find it all interesting.

— The biggest takeaway for me is Reiff being 6-3, 228, as I envisioned him as an interior defensive lineman. From what I was previously told, Reiff would be a guy with versatility between three-tech and five-tech, but maybe he does just stay outside as a strong side end? Or maybe he is still easily able to pack on the pounds and get to 275. Reiff staying at D-end is something Mike Goolsby said in our live show to not rule out. The note of Reiff being two inches shorter is interesting, too.

I will say though that Notre Dame didn’t use any half-inches for the signing day roster. So maybe he’s 6-3.5 and they rounded down. I’m not sure.

— Davion Dixon is a couple inches shorter but 15 pounds heavier than expected. Honestly, that’s fine with me. He’s a nose tackle all the way. Low man wins.

— I’m shocked Ethan Long is only 6-1. On film, he looks like a 6-3 or 6-4 safety. Maybe that just speaks to his overall lengthy frame.

— A 6-1, 210-pound kicker? Erik Schmidt is currently the same size as linebacker Ko’o Kia. That’s a big dude.

— Mark Zackery has always been on the lighter side so it’s good to see him at 6-0, 170 pounds.
