Notre Dame hockey coach Jeff Jackson’s final season with the Fighting Irish will feature at least one more game. And it’s a big one.

On Saturday, Jackson and Notre Dame (12-24-1) will face No. 2 Michigan State (24-6-4) in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Big Ten Network will have television coverage.

The Irish kept their 2024-25 season alive after upsetting No. 3 Minnesota in a three-game series in the tournament’s first round. Notre Dame beat the Gophers 3-2 last Friday and fell 3-2 on Saturday. But the Irish came out on top in Sunday’s win-or-go-home match with a 4-1 victory. Jayden Davis, Grant Silianoff, Cole Knuble and Hunter Strand scored goals in the win.

Notre Dame concluded the regular season with a pair of 5-2 home losses against the Spartans on Feb. 28 and March 1. The Irish look to rebound, hoping to keep their season alive to face the winner of Ohio State and Penn State in the Big Ten Championship game. That matchup is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., also on Big Ten Network.

The Irish are 53-81-11 all-time against the Spartans, including 21-44-5 when facing them in East Lansing.
