Notre Dame is still in contention for one of the top safety prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. On Thursday, Monroe (N.C.) High junior Jordan Young included the Fighting Irish in his top 13 schools list.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Young is down to Notre Dame, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Miami, NC State, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Southern California, Tennessee and Texas.

Young, a fringe top 50 four-star recruit, left Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Maryland, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest on the outside looking in on his recruitment.

Notre Dame is one of eight schools to have hosted Young on an unofficial college recruiting visit since November 2022. He also paid trips to North Carolina (2), Duke (2), NC State (2), Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Tennessee and Clemson. Young traveled to South Bend for spring practice on March 25.

The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Young the No. 51 overall player, No. 2 “athlete” and No. 2 prospect in North Carolina in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

In On3’s own rankings, Young is the No. 37 player in the class, the No. 1 “athlete” and the No. 3 recruit in the state.
