LOOK: Key 2025 QB target Bear Bachmeier at Notre Dame for visit
Notre Dame only has one uncommitted target on campus this weekend for the Irish’s clash with Central Michigan, and it’s a pretty important one.
Murrieta (Calif.) Valley’s Bear Bachmeier, the No. 111 overall recruit and No. 9 quarterback in the country according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, made his way to South Bend Friday after leading his team to a victory on Thursday. And prior to kickoff on Saturday afternoon, the four-star passer was spotted outside the stadium.
In the video tweeted below by Blue & Gold’s Kyle Kelly, Bachmeier was observing the player walk when Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman came up to embrace him. Irish recruiting staffers Chad Bowden and Dre Brown were spending time with Bachmeier and the other prospects pregame.
In Kelly’s tweet below, Bachmeier (white collared shirt) is pictured with a pair of Notre Dame commitments from the state of Ohio. Those players are Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward EDGE Loghan Thomas and West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West safety Taebron Bennie-Powell.
Thomas ranks as the No. 176 overall player and No. 11 EDGE in America per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. He’s pictured in a blue hoodie with green shorts.
Bennie-Powell, the No. 558 recruit and No. 22 “athlete” in the nation per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, is wearing a green hat and blue hoodie.

Bachmeier’s older brother, Hank, spent a few seasons as a quarterback at Boise State and transferred to Louisiana Tech earlier this year. His other older brother, Tiger, is a freshman wide receiver at Stanford.
During his sophomore year, Bachmeier threw for 2,853 yards with 26 touchdowns and a 73 percent completion percentage. On the ground, he added 644 yards and 18 scores.
Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, Boise State and Oregon State are among the other scholarship offers for Bachmeier. He’s only taken four college visits up to this point; he’s been to Alabama, Oregon, Lousiana Tech and Stanford.
Bachmeier currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $133,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
