Freeman, 38, is handling things so well, in fact, that on Sunday — five days before Notre Dame hosts Indiana in the first round of the CFP — he was rewarded with a four-year contract extension that Irish Illustrated reported will pay him more than $9 million a year and would keep Freeman on the Irish sideline through 2030.
