Notre Dame football spring practices are over. That means you never know where head coach Marcus Freeman could be any given day. Wednesday night, he was in Washington D.C. attending a state dinner hosted by President Joe Biden honoring South Korea President Yoon Suk-yeol.

Freeman attended the dinner with his mother, Chong Freeman, who is from South Korea. Freeman’s father, Michael Freeman, met Chong when he was serving overseas in the U.S. Air Force. Chong moved to the United States with Michael in 1976. Freeman, 37, was born 10 years later. Freeman was very appreciative of the way he parents raised him in his introductory press conference in Dec. 2021.

The Freemans were in the presence of several influential figures at Wednesday’s state dinner. A full guest list can be found here.

Quote of the day

“The whole thought process was there have been a lot of people to help me out along the way. I want to be able to be with them on this night. It’s a very important night tomorrow night. We got about 50 people coming over, all family and friends, some of my coaches. I wanted to be with some of my coaches who have really helped me.”
