There will be a lot of talent at Notre Dame for the staff’s Irish Invasion event Sunday, which is the Marcus Freeman‘s marquee camp of June. But there won’t be a position with more intrigue than quarterback.

The reason for that is Notre Dame will have both of its quarterback commits working out with position coach Gino Guidugli and Co.

On Saturday afternoon, Lake Mary (Fla.) High’s Noah Grubbs, the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 9 quarterback in America per the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, announced his pledge to the Fighting Irish, picking Notre Dame over Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State and a handful of others.

Typically, there’s a reason a prospect picks a specific date to announce his decision. Often times, it’s sentimental. But for Grubbs, it was all about making sure he made his commitment before Irish Invasion.

“I wanted to do it before the camp, so that when I’m there, I can help recruit in my class,” Grubbs stated. “I want it to be known that I’m committed. I want to get this class of ‘26 going.”

It will be neat to see Grubbs working alongside Lucedale (Miss.) George County’s Deuce Knight, who has been Notre Dame’s quarterback commit in the 2025 class since September.

Knight, the No. 54 overall player and No. 7 quarterback in the country according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, has been in South Bend since Thursday. This will be his first time being coached by Guidugli.

There will be a couple dozen other quarterbacks on campus, too.

Indianapolis Lawrence Central 2026 passer Terry Walker III will also be there. The 6-3, 165-pounder visited campus on April 19 and has a pair of MAC offers.

Notre Dame has not yet offered any 2027 quarterbacks. However, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna’s Zac Katz is worth monitoring for one. He already has ones from Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss and SMU.

Mundelein (Ill.) Carmel Catholic’s Trae Taylor has totaled offers from seven conference programs. He returns to South Bend for the fourth time, hoping to add the Irish to that list.
