Two former Notre Dame standouts played in the Super Bowl on Sunday night, and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Ben Skowronek walked away a Super Bowl champion as the Rams topped the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

Skowronek, a rookie and seventh-round 2021 NFL Draft selection, caught two passes for 12 yards and was targeted five times, which matched a season high. He finished his inaugural campaign in Los Angeles with 11 catches for 133 yards.

Former Irish defensive end Khalid Kareem was on the field for Cincinnati on Sunday night and recorded two tackles.

The Rams won on a late touchdown pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford to receiver Cooper Kupp, and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald sacked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on fourth down to close out the game. Kupp was named the Super Bowl MVP.
