Newsstand: Newcomers shine in Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game
For the first and last time until Notre Dame takes the field in Columbus on Sept. 3, the Irish faithful were able to get a look at what head coach Marcus Freeman is working on in South Bend on Saturday.
The event was the 91st annual Blue-Gold Game, and while the first three quarters were relatively slow, the game ended on a walk-off touchdown scramble by early enrollee and quarterback Steve Angeli. That’s one way to make an entrance.
The Gold Team took home the 13-10 victory behind the leadership of Notre Dame running backs coach and temporary head coach Deland McCullough. Defensive line coach Al Washington oversaw the Blue Team.
