The commitment dates were lined up for five top Notre Dame targets, as Blue & Gold’s Patrick Engel tweeted out on the morning of June 29. All that was left to do was wait and see if an Irish hat would be picked up during each respective announcement.

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South 2024 wide receiver Cam Williams got things started for Notre Dame, picking the Irish on June 29 over his childhood favorite team, Michigan.

The next morning, Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman 2023 offensive tackle Charles Jagusah sent out his first tweet in months — and it was to announces his commitment to Notre Dame. On3 ranks Jagusah as a five-star prospect and the No. 1 offensive tackle in America.

Houston The Kinkaid School 2023 cornerback Micah Bell made it three straight days of new commitments for Notre Dame. The four-star prospect also had offers from Baylor, Harvard, Texas and others.

There were no commitments for Notre Dame on Saturday, but Folsom (Calif.) High 2023 wide receiver Rico Flores Jr. picked the Irish on Sunday. The impressive do-it-all pass catcher also held scholarships from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and many others.

St. Louis De Smet 2023 cornerback Christian Gray made it a clean sweep for Notre Dame, as he announced in favor of the Irish over LSU, Ohio State and USC.

Gray gives the Fighting Irish 19 commitments in the 2023 class, which ranks No. 1 according to the 2023 On3 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

Quote of the day

“This is huge. When we look back at it, this is going to be one of the top three commitments of the class. He’s an outstanding football player. Who they pulled him away from is a story unto itself. Gray is a day-one football player at Notre Dame, and they haven’t had a lot of these cornerbacks over the years.”
