Following the conclusion of all NCAA winter sports, Notre Dame currently sits at No. 4 in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup Winter Standings. Men’s and women’s gymnastics championships have occurred since the last rendition of the rankings, in which the Irish were second behind Michigan.

The Wolverines remain in the No. 1 spot with 1,000.25 points. Both Stanford (851.25) and Ohio State (828.00) leapt Notre Dame (814.00) with their gymnastics performances, and North Carolina (702.00) now rounds out the top five.

The SEC has seven teams in the top 25, the most of any conference in the country. Kentucky is leading the charge there, sitting in eighth place.

The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup is a combined effort between USA Today and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The Spring Standings will be released in mid-June.

The Irish have never finished higher than third in the final rankings; during the 2013-14 school year, they ended up only behind Stanford and Florida.
