When Mel Kiper Jr. releases a mock draft, you pay attention. He’s been synonymous with NFL Draft coverage since 1984, and Tuesday, he put Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt in the top 10 of 2024 Mock Draft 1.0.

Kiper had Alt going to the Tennessee Titans at No. 7 overall. Alt was Kiper’s first offensive lineman off the board, just ahead of Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu at No. 10.

“Alt was the definition of a stalwart on the left side of Notre Dame’s line, where he started 33 games. He gave up just two sacks over the past two seasons,” Kiper wrote. “Tennessee ranked 31st in the rate of sacks per dropback (11.1%) in 2023, so putting [second-year starting quarterback Will] Levis in a better position to succeed should be a priority.”

The Titans drafted Northwestern offensive lineman Peter Skoronski with the 11th pick in 2023, and most expect him to stick at guard long-term. Alt and Skoronski could form a dominant duo on the left side of the offensive line for years to come.
