Newsstand: Notre Dame RB Audric Estimé’s draft stock rising after Pro Day, per ESPN
No prospect in the entire country raised their draft stock at their Pro Day more than Notre Dame running back Audric Estimé, according to ESPN NFL Draft analyst and insider Matt Miller.
Estimé ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day on March 21. That’s nothing spectacular; no one is mistaking the 5-foot-11, 221-pound back for a speed burner. However, he ran a 4.71-second 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, which threatened to drop him to the later rounds.

Miller wrote — and this writer would agree — that Estimé’s Pro Day time represented his speed on the field better than his Combine time. That 4.71 mark, Miller explained, was one of the biggest surprises in Indianapolis.
“Currently ranked as a late-Round 3 pick on my board, Estime has the power, patience, vision and contact balance of an NFL starting running back,” Miller said. “It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him among the top three RBs selected in this year’s draft.”

Quote of the day
“I’m kind of deceptive. People probably think I’m more of a finesse type of guy and that I can’t break tackles or anything like that. I take pride in it because I do break a lot of tackles, actually. I take pride in trying to make the first guy miss and not letting one guy take me down and getting yards after contact.”
