Circa Sports has released its initial 2025 College Football Playoff national championship odds, and Notre Dame is tied for sixth place with Alabama at 15-1.

Ohio State and Texas are tied for first at 5-1, followed by Georgia at 6 1/2-1, Oregon at 7-1 and Penn State at 7 1/2-1. Tennessee (18-1), Clemson (20-1) and LSU, Michigan and Ole Miss (25-1) round out the top 10.

Coming off a national championship game appearance in head coach Marcus Freeman‘s third season, the Irish are set to compete for a second-straight CFP appearance. They will feature a first-time starting quarterback, but whomever that is will be surrounded by ample returning talent on both sides of the ball.

After the Irish lost in national championship to Ohio State, many of the stars who are set to return to the 2025 team echoed the same sentiment: “We’ll be back.” Most oddsmakers agree that there’s a strong chance they will.

Quote of the day

“I’m super grateful for our relationship. Knowing that he’s been here three years, I’ve been here five, coming from being an assistant, taking over a program like Notre Dame football, Notre Dame women’s basketball, we have a lot in common. I think that’s how our relationship has grown.”
