Former Notre Dame wide receiver Miles Boykin’s new NFL home reunites him with an old Irish teammate.

The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed Boykin off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens Tuesday, teaming him up with ex-Notre Dame receiver Chase Claypool. The two were on the Irish from 2016-18 and started together in 2018. Boykin was a third-round pick of the Ravens in 2019, while Claypool was a 2020 second-rounder and starts for the Steelers.

Boykin has 33 catches for 470 yards and seven touchdowns in his three NFL seasons, with his best individual year coming in 2020. He hauled in 19 passes for 266 yards and four scores that season. He appeared in just eight games last fall, though, with one reception for six yards. He missed the first four outings of the season with a hamstring injury. A finger injury sidelined him for a month midseason. He was a healthy scratch in Week 17.

The Ravens took Boykin with the No. 93 overall pick in 2019.

The Steelers have nine receivers on their 90-man offseason roster, including Boykin. Claypool was a 13-game starter for them last season, notching 59 catches for 860 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 14 rushes for 96 yards.
