Newsstand: Update on Notre Dame transfer portal target Josh Kelly
Despite securing a commitment from Florida International transfer wide receiver Kris Mitchell, Notre Dame is not done at that position. The Irish hosted Washington State transfer wideout Josh Kelly for a visit Tuesday.
On3’s Pete Nakos reported Tuesday night that Kelly, according to a source close to him, will visit Texas Tech from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13.
Kelly caught 61 passes for 923 yards and eight touchdowns this season, and he would immediately join Mitchell in the race to slot in as Notre Dame’s Notre Dame’s No. 1 wide receiver in 2024. He only spent one year at Washington State after four at Fresno State, where caught 52 passes for 778 yards in 2021 but lost much of his 2022 season due to injury.

Quote of the day
“It just means the world to them. Like I said, they’ve been there with me through the whole journey. They’ve kind of guided me, mentored me, showed me love and support through everything that I’ve been through, but I just feel like it’s a tribute to them, being strong parents and being able to provide me the right advice that I need to be able to stick to this course. Even yesterday, just seeing the smile on their faces and how happy they were about what happened, it just meant the world to them. They kind of live their life through me, like I’m the only child, so it just means the world to them.”
