NFL Combine workout live blog, Day 4 — tracking Kyle Hamilton's performance
Notre Dame’s top draft prospect takes the field at the NFL Scouting Combine Sunday.
Safety Kyle Hamilton begins on-field testing Sunday afternoon with an eye on affirming his status as one of the 2022 NFL Draft’s best prizes, regardless of position. He came into the combine as a top-five player on most prospect lists and was appearing as high as No. 2 in mock drafts in late February.
Defensive back workouts began at 2 p.m. ET Sunday, the final day of the combine, and are televised live on NFL Network. They will run through 7 p.m. Hamilton began the day by measuring at 6-4 and 220 pounds with 33-inch arms and a 6-7 ¾ wingspan. He was listed at 6-4 and 219 pounds on Notre Dame’s 2021 roster.

Hamilton is the last of five Notre Dame players to work out at the combine. Quarterback Jack Coan and wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. began it Thursday, running back Kyren Williams went Friday and defensive lineman Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa worked out Saturday.
Hamilton declared for the draft in December after three years at Notre Dame, the last two of which were All-American seasons. He was a consensus All-American in 2021 despite playing in just six-plus games. He made 35 tackles (2.0 for loss) with four pass breakups and three interceptions before suffering a knee injury Oct. 23 that knocked him out for the regular season. He skipped the Fiesta Bowl after declaring.
In 2020, Hamilton was voted an All-American by four of the five NCAA-recognized outlets. He made a team-high 63 tackles (4.5 for loss) with six pass breakups and one interception. He was a part-time player as a freshman in 2019, but still led the team with four interceptions and made 41 tackles.

Notre Dame signed Hamilton as part of its 2019 class. The Atlanta native was the No. 64 player nationally, per the On3 Consensus.
No Notre Dame defensive player has gone in the top ten of the NFL draft since defensive tackle Bryant Young (No. 7 overall). The last Irish defender to become a top-five pick was cornerback Todd Lyght in 1991 (No. 5 overall).
Hamilton has been training for the draft in Los Angeles.
